For Local Health Departments

About

North Carolina Public Health works to improve the health of its people and communities. The Local Technical Assistance & Training (LTAT) Branch and the Office of the Chief Public Health Nurse (OCPHN) provide resources, consultation, and technical assistance that supports the work of the state and local health departments, which include generalized nursing, administrative, and financial consultation, training & technical assistance. Our continuing education unit provides accredited educational activities for the state and local public health workforce. We also provide NCTracks support for state and local public health programs.

The Chief Public Health Nurse provides leadership in shaping an effective and efficient system of programs and services in North Carolina by directing, collaborating on, implementing and evaluating statewide public health and public health nursing policy development and standards with the purpose of improving quality of health care delivery at the local level.
